5. Summer Times - June GlossyBox

I am nearing the end of my GB subscription and in my opinion the boxes have been really up and down. I've come across a few products that have really struck me as outstanding and have changed my beauty must have list!

So the June theme was Summer Looks. I like this theme because I hate putting too much on my face in the heat so I was looking forward to some really good summer products.

My favourite is the Monu Professional Skincare Hydrating Moisturiser with SPF 15. First thing - big tick for the SPF which is always a bonus and goes a long way to protecting your skin. It's got a very gentle fragrance and a nice consistency that absorbs quickly. It says hydrating and doesn't leave my skin greasy or sticky too touch; it also doesn't make me oily during the day. The packaging is cute and understated. At 50ml for £29.95 it isn't cheap, but I believe in investing in the good skin care if you need it. My 30ml is worth £17.97 and I will be using it all!

Secondly the Figs & Rouge Coco Rose Lip Balm. I've got about 50 lip balms and I can't ever remember finishing one; but I do love to keep my lips soft so I was pleased to see this full sized product. It's a cool pink sparkly colour which is a nice addition to a standard lip balm, it's lovely and natural (yay for no chemicals) and it smells great. I'm not a fan of rose scented things, but this I found quite nice. You can squeeze it right out the pretty tub onto your lips! This lipbalm is 12.5 ml and costs £5.

The final product from the box that I have be using is the Q Body Spray. This is a nice, cheap, adult fragrance - the full 100ml only costs £2.29. Once you have grown out of the Impulse fragrance range this is definitely the next option. It looks a bit vintagey which I love and it's a versatile fragrance that I would be happy to wear day or night!

So, the products I won't be using. Paul MItchell Curls Leave in Treatment (15ml sample worth £1.12) and Ultimate Wave (15 ml samples worth £1.20). I don't have curly hair so I'm not going to bother. I will be giving them to my very curly headed best friend. However I have a lot of faith in Paul Mitchell's products and I'm sure they will work for her.

And finally the Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse OR. I hate fussy products and to me this product is very fussy. Another one of many multi taskers it is all gold and shimmery. After a while of standing still it separates and looks less appetisitng. I don't like glitter in my beauty products I can't imagine what benefits it has at all so this will not be used. However if you do like a product that does many things at once and don't mind a bit of fuss, this does smell good and seems to contain some good oils and Vitamin E. At 10 ml this sample is worth £3.40.

I will certainly be thinking about repurchasing some of the products in this GlossyBox because I really like them and/or they're targeted at concerns I have! GlossyBox definitely fulfilling its purpose with those and we can't really expect a box of 5 dream products can we?! :) x

4. Happy 2nd Birthday GlossyBox!

May GlossyBox - The Birthday Box!

This was GlossyBox's 2nd birthday so I was really hoping for some fabulous things. Sorry for the late review by the way :D

1. The most exciting for me is the BEAUTIFUL MOVEMENT COSMETICS Prime and Create Mixing Medium. I love a good primer so I was using this straight away. It's silky smooth and mixes in great with foundation and powder eye shadows etc to create a smoother product. The only drawback was the size - 2.5g. It's teeny tiny so I only got a couple of uses and I would have loved a larger product. This sells at £20 for 20g, making mine worth £2.50.

2. Next up is PAUL MITCHELL Awapuhi Wild Ginger Shine Spray. I love Paul Mitchell stuff and I love full sized samples so double happiness. This product smells great and makes my hair lovely and shiny. I've used it a couple of times before a night out and it gives a nice finish. It certainly didn't make my hair any worse or clumpy or dry it out which is always such a worry with sprays that promise to do lovely things. This was full sized and is worth £18.95

3. COLLECTION Fast Stroke Eyeliner. I have not used liquid eyeliner in years! I generally wear mascara and leave it at that. However I was pleasantly surprised by this product. It's very easy to apply because of the firm brush and does last all day long. It's not as dark as I would like but you can solve that by applying more than one layer. A good cheap eyeliner! Full size sample at £2.99

4. The penultimate product! HEADLINE COLORS Nail Polish. I didn't mind seeing another full sized nail polish - I know lots of GBox receivers do complain about this. I never buy nail polish so getting it in the box is okay. I really like the colour I got, very summery definitely suited to the beach. Application was okay, fairly average to be honest. I didn't need two coats though I always apply two. However I was very disappointed as by the end of the next day it had chipped and peeled and I had to remove it all. This product is worth £9 which is more expensive than Essie and completely inferior.

5. And finally JELLY PONG PONG Fairy Lashes Mascara. I read about this product before I even took it out the box. One reviewer noted how many chemicals were in it which put me off right away. I was also put off by the water resistant part. I don't like to put nasty things near my eyes and as suspected this mascara did make my eyes itch. It took some getting off as well. Not rated well at all. This product is worth £15.

I was pretty disappointed with my box especially after seeing some of the other products that I could have got. Included in the box was a mini set of GlossyBox emery boards. I hate these on my nails so they went straight in the bin! I definitely got my money's worth though (the box comes to about £48) and two full size products that I have enjoyed.
